Tuesday, August 24, 2010, we were up bright and early, showing, grabbing dresses, makup, suites, shoes, hair spray, bobby pins! Then off we went with our baby girl in the back seat to the Salt Lake Temple. At 10:20 AM Kristin Marie Anderson was married to Griffin Bland for time and all eternity.
After the wedding we headed over to the JSMB for a beautiful luncheon. It was such an enjoyable afternoon with our family and closest friends!

We run home for just a few minutes to gather different dresses, shoes, tuxes, pictures, candy, pens, vases, etc and off to the reception center at Woods on 9th. The evening was amazing, beautiful weather, wonderful people, perfect photographer (http://rltphotography.com), energetic DJ! The evening could not have gone any more perfect!

Now...Scott and I are Empty Nesters....time to start booking cruises and play, play, play!

OUR PRECIOUS LITTLE ANGEL

The Saturday before EASTER we had a family egg hunt and lunch at my parents home. All my brothers and their families were there except for Terrol & his family who live in Las Vegas. We had a fun time being together! The nieces and nephews enjoy being together and LOVED hunting for their eggs around the house. And of course everyone loved getting to hold Baby Laryssa and Baby Jaxon.

On Easter Sunday, Lindsay, Zach, Laryssa, and Scott's mom and dad came over for a ham and potatoes dinner. This is the fiist year since Scott and I have been married, that I fixed an Easter dinner for the family. We have always gone to Scott parents on Easter Sunday, but Scott's mom had hurt her back and was unable to cook for the whole famiily. So we invited them over to join us. It was so much fun!

I can't believe she is already 1 week old. She has such a fun little personality already. She LOVES her mommy and daddy and knows when they are in the room. Her great-grandma gave her a little bath tub and she absolutely loves taking baths in it and having her head massaged. OH...and she loves her tongue..it is always moving round in the little tiny mouth.

We are in love with her. Love being a GRANDMA. Can't give her enough hugs and kisses. She is so alert and so fun to cuddle with. It's amazing how someone so small and helpless can get you wrapped around her tiny little finger so quickly!

YSA at Classic Fun Center

Another fun filled activity with our YSA group. This time we went roller blading/rollerskating or skooter riding at Classic Fun Center. Some of these YSA's are pretty good on blades, as for me, I still wobble on roller skates. LOL!! But, it's fun to hang out with these YSA's and get to know them and be young with them! :)

It's so nice having a connection to have the opportunity to go to an amazing restaurant for an amazing price! With Lindsay teaching FACS (Family and Consumer Science) or for those of you who are my age....Home Economics; we were able to go with her Foods class to the LaCaille Restaurant. The school district and the LaCaille arrange for the youth to come to the restaurant (on their own dime) and learn etiquette. People from the LaCaille actually go to the school and teach the youth about etiquette in a fine restaurant prior to them going to the dinner. We ate Escargots Bourguignons, Sorbet, Hearts of Romaine with Roquefort Vinaigrette salad, chicken or salmon, then had a wonderful dessert called Banana Foster, it is a French vanilla ice cream flambéd with banana and Bacardi Silver Rum sauce.

WHAT A HIGHLIGHT FOR ME! Yesterday a group of us met up for breakfast at Golden Corral. This group was Young Women that I had a few years ago when I was the YW President. We all found each other thru blogging or facebook.

It was such an amazing morning for me to see how much these young women have grown. I just sat and listened to them each talk about their husbands, their jobs, their babies, their schooling!

Each of them have grown so much and are such amazing ladies! I am so thankful to know each of them and to have been able to be a part of their lives.

It brought back so many good memories of weekly activities, camps, spiritual firesides, the list goes on and on!

We are hoping to make this a monthly gathering with everyone and hope that our group expands! Thanks ladies for all the wonderful memories. I love you all!!! HUGSS!!!

We are now counting DAYS not weeks! Our little baby granddaughter will be here in less than a month. We can hardly wait to met her, hold her, kiss her and just gloat!!!

Soldier Hallow -- YSA Activity

On February 20th we met as a Region and headed to Soldier Hallow in Midway to go TUBING!

We had so much fun! What a rush to sled down the mountain in the dark.

Everyone was having a great time. We could hear girls screaming/laughing.

The guys we WAHOOing! It was awesome!

Members of the Region brought amazing soups and sandwiches for us to fill our belly's and to warm up. The lodge was nice and warm with a rip-roaring fire going in the fire place.

We had so much fun with friends and getting to meet new people! This is an amazing program the church has come up with. Sure which we could get more YSA's to join us, the more the merrier!

If you know any Young Single Adults between the ages of 18 and 30 who'd like to join us, send them to my blog, have them leave me a message and I'll get in touch with them! This is the best calling for Scott and me to have. We love associating with these YSA's....they truly keep us young. :)

Scott received an amazing award from work this week!! He was nominated by his colleagues several times as "EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH". Out of all the 1,000's of people who work at the new hospital in Murray...Scott was awarded

"EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH"!

He had no idea he had even been nominated.....and he was totally surprised. The Dr.'s and nurses he works with just love him....and I ask...how can you NOT love this man! He is very private and has a cute shy side, but he is also very fun and friendly to be around. I honestly do not know anyone who doesn't like Scott. Way to go Scott...keep up the great job at work!!! XOXOXO I am very proud of you!

Happiest Place On Earth?

ABSOLUTELY!!

When you are with the one that you LOVE!

Scott and I gave each other tickets to Disneyland for Christmas. And then we waited and waited for February 4th to come so we could fly out! We fly to Long Beach (hole in the wall) Airport, got our car rental and drove to our Hotel by Disneyland.

It was around 80 degrees that day! And...we were over dressed. But the day was perfect! We didn't have to wait for any rides, we were able to walk on almost every ride! Later in the day we decided to ride Spash Mountain! So glad we waited...we got DRENCHED. We had to call our hotel and have to shuttle come pick us up, our clothes were soaked and we were cold. The next day was nice until the afternoon, then it started to rain. Scott had been watching the weather for California, so we took our rain coats with us. And very glad we did. It was a down pour. But, that didn't stop us! The majority of the rides are inside so we would run from ride to ride. Again we didn't have to wait for the rides.
This is the first time in 26 years (other than our Honeymoon) that we have taken a vacation away together without anyone coming with us. It was a wonderful time! Isn't this what it's all about? Spending time with the one you love and love being with that person? After 26 years of being together...I am still madly in love with my sweetie!

What an Awesome Surprise

My baby brother, and sister-in-law invited all of us to church to witness the blessing of their new baby son. It was a special occasion for my side of the family. All of us were together except for 1 of my 4 brothers and his family who live out of state. We all met at my parents ward. My dad is a member of the bishopric so he was standing at the door greeting the members. As we came up to greet them, my dad grabbed me and said, come with me, there is someone I'd like to introduce you to. So we walk over to a pew where a lady was sittin. Dad says Lonna, I'd like you to meet Lonna. We both looked at each other and smiled. Then I asked her, how do you spell your name? She said LONNA. Hummmm....first time in my whole life that I met another Lonna, spelled the same way. Afterr that I go sit with my family and enjoy the meeting. At the end of the meeting, I am snuggling with my newest nephew and Lonna comes up to me and hands me a grocery sack and says this is for you...my name sake. I really don't look at it close because I am holding the baby. But when I get in the car, I open the sack and it is a hand-made crochet afghan. I was shocked!! I get to mom and dad's and show them what she gave me. Mom told me that she gives away one afghan a month to someone! I felt so special that day!

Isn't it beautiful! I will cherish it forever!
I was taught by my sweet grandma how to crochet when I was a young girl and I know how much time it takes to make these kinds of afghan's. THANK YOU LONNA!

BABY SHOWER TIME!!

It was just about 24 years ago that I was at my baby shower for my first baby. Most of the things I recievied were generic, because I did not know if I as having a boy or girl. NOW.....almost 24 years later.....I just had the awesome opportunity to give my little girl her baby shower for our soon-to-be born grand-daughter!!! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!

I was so worried about this shower, and I don't know why. I was up at 3:30 AM and couldn't fall back to sleep. It was a wonderful shower! Lindsay got so much nice stuff. Little Laryssa is going to be the best dressed baby around! We are very blessed with wonderful family and friends! Thanks to everyone who supported Lindsay and Little Baby Laryssa...you are LOVED!! Mom and Kristin...thank you too, could not have pulled it off without all your time and help!! XOXOXO

YSA -- jUmP oN iT!!!!

Last night our YSA (Young Single Adults) had a region activity at Jump On It in Lindon. WOW, what a place. Trampolines everywhere. The activity didn't start until 9:00PM. So we were heading to Lindon and had some instructions on how to find the place. You can actually see it off I-15 on the west side of the road. BUT...once you take the exit it's a maze to find it...especially in the FOG! Well, we finally found it and got inside and was thrilled to see so many YSA's there jumping and have a great time. They keep the building cold, so if you don't jump, bring a jacket!!

There was some pretty amazing stunts going on! They had some snowboard looking feet ware that guys were doing jumps and twists with. There are basketball hoops around the gym too and a few games were going on.

There were a few minor boo-boo's, but nothing a band-aid couldn't fix.

We got home around midnight. Driving 5MPH in the dense fog didn't get us home very fast. But once we found I-15 heading North, we drove out of the fog. Working with the YSA's is a lot of fun for Scott and me. They keep us young at heart! We enjoy seeing these 18 to 30 year olds mix and mingle and become friends! NOW...if we could just get them to marry each other! LOL

WELL...I finally got it! NEW CARPET!!! Yipee, Wahoo, and Cheers! We have been in our house almost 13 years, and it was a model home 1 year before we moved in...so this carpet is 14 years old and in desperate need of being replaced! We called several places, and got 4 bids...and FINALLY made our decision. Lowe's outbid the other 3 place by $2,000....and that's a lot of Moolah!

I lived with this crease in our bedroom for 13 years. When we moved in, there was a creek when you would walk from our bedroom into the bathroom. So my sweet hubby, who is a perfectionist, decided he was going to lift the carpet and screw in some nails to stop the creek noise. Well, we all know what happens when you do that...the carpet is never the same. We really needed to have someone come and stretch it back into place...but NEVER did. UGH

Our stairs from the entry way to the bedrooms were turning BLACK they are suppose to be BEIGE.

While the installers were here, we noticed all these robins out in our front yard just sitting in our trees and on the snow. They would fly in together, rest in the trees, then fly out together. It was quite the fun entertainment since we really didn't have anywhere we could go without being in the installers way.
AWE....the new carpet in our TV Room.

Our Bedroom has NO creases in the carpet. WAHOO!!!
They even made our stairs look better by tucking under the lip of each stair.
I love our new carpet. I still can smell the new carpet smell when I walk into the house and love that smell! NOW, we need new counters and cabinets in the KITCHEN. LOL

We had a family party at our home last night! Scott's parents, brother, sister-in-law, Lindsay and Zach came over to welcome in the new 2009 Year with us! We had Taco Soup, salad, drinks and chocolate fondue with cinnamon bears, graham crackers, marshmallows & bananas. Thanks to everyone for helping bring food, everything was delish!

It Is Already Come & Gone.....

Christmas Eve was an eventful day for us. I had to work, which was a bummer, cuz everyone else got to have the day off. But...I thought, it'll be okay, it'll go fast. So I got up at 5:30 was getting ready, and had this strange thought that I should take the truck. So I looked outside and it was not snowing. So I just blew the thought off (bad choice)! I'm on my way in to work and 2 blocks from my office, my check engine light comes on, and seconds later my oil light comes on. I am praying I can make it 2 blocks to work. Get there, and have one of my colleagues come out with me, we check the dip stick...not a drop of oil. He asks me how I made it to work and I tell him the story. We added 4 quarts of oil and it finally registers on the dip stick. I decide to drive around the block to see what happens, and when I get back I notice a huge puddle of oil where my car was parked. Scott (bless his heart) drives to my work, checks a bunch of stuff, everything seems tight. We finally have to have it towed. Come to find out...a seal went bad and drained all the oil!! The part was all of $13.00 BUT to put it on the car came to $506...OUCH!! Not quite the Christmas gift I truly wanted. But at least it now works and we didn't have to get a new car.We made it on time to Scott parents home for the Christmas Eve Family Party and had a wonderful time visiting with brothers, sisters, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

First Presidency Christmas message

At this joyous Christmas season men and women of faith turn their thoughts to our dear Savior who came forth from heaven to live on earth as a mortal man and to establish the kingdom of God. His glorious gospel reshaped the thinking of the world. He blessed the sick. He caused the lame to walk, the blind to see, the deaf to hear. He even raised the dead to life. To us He has said, "Come, follow me."
We testify of the living reality of Jesus Christ as the Savior of mankind. As we seek Christ and as we follow Him, we shall have the Christmas spirit, not for one fleeting day each year, but as a companion always.

I love this message from our first presidency! At times it seems like our lifes can be so difficult and so crazy. But in reality, it can be quite simple and easy. We just need to follow the perfect example of our Savior, and do as our prophets have told us and we can have a pretty nice life. I love this time of year. I love seeing manger seens, hearing Christmas songs, the smells of the season, and even Santa, who is the giver to others, just as the Lord gave to each of us, a Savior! Merry Christmas!

My Secret Elf actually made an appointment to come to my house!! She was sneeky. She found out on my blog that my daughter graduated from Cosmetology/Barbering and asked if she could make an appointment for a hair cut. I was SO anxious to meet her! So finally last night the door bell rang and there was TINK! She had a cute gift bag with a fantastic book by Jeffrey R Holland that I can't wait to read. A reading light and yummy body lotion! I love to read in bed, now I don't have to get up to turn the lights out! Wahoo!!! Well Tink and I hit it off! We actually use to live right by her family. We have two friends in common and we work within a couple of blocks of each other. I had SO much fun chatting while Kristin cut her hair! Kudos to Jodi for this wonderful idea of Blog Gift Giving!

We love to watch Christmas shows...we can't wait until TBS does the marathon of "A Christmas Story". We honestly leave it on all day, even though we have the DVD we watch it over and over. (I know "REDNECKS") The funnest thing is we sit and quote it days upon end then just laugh and laugh. I LOVE this time of year!!

What FUN day Thanksgiving is. The day always seems to go by SO fast! Isn't that the way life seems to be, you want a day to go by slowly so you can enjoy it with family or friends, but it goes by so fast. Scott had to work today, so we had a late dinner. We enjoyed catching up with all the Aunts, Uncles ann cousins. We played games and enjoyed the day togehter. Tomorrow is a day of shop, shop, shop!

Speeding Ticket -UGH!!

So...a couple of weeks ago on a Friday, Kristin asked me to follow her to the car dealership to drop her car off because the part had come in and they needed to keep her car for awhile.
So...being the wonderful mom that I am, I jumped into my car and stared driving to the South Towne Center of car city!!
For those of you who may drive in South Jordan...WARNING....the speed limit off 106th and Redwood is ONLY 35 MPH until after 1300 West! GEEZZZZ, that is way too slow.
Needless to say I thought it was 45, WRONG! There is road construction on the south west corner of Redwood Road and 106th and then there is this little 35MPH sign posted right behind all the construction right by the Del Taco.
I get pulled over by a female cop for going 47 in a 35. This is my first offence EVER, in my 30 years of drivng. No warning, no reduced mileage!
So I call the South Jodan Justice Court to find out how I go about paying my ticket. The lady who answers tells me I should come in and plead with the Judge of So. Jordan since this is my first offence.
So today after work I go to the Justice Court Building to plead my case. This Judge is as hard as nails......no mercy in his court for firstt time offenders. So needless to say I have to pay $107 speeding ticket and $50 for traffice school online so the points will be removed from by license. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME.
Just want to warn you all out there, SLOW down around 106th and East of Redwood Road...it's a SPEED TRAP!

YSA Activity at Fat Cats!

Scott and I are over the YSA's (Young Single Adults) in our ward. Kristin and Andrew are our YSA counselors. We have been wanting to have a night out and finally got a date that would work for everyone! We invited our neighbor ward to come along with us! It was a hit, we had 28 people show up! Everyone bowled for 2 hours, we had pizza, salad, bread sticks and soda. I think our high scorer the night was Dane at 147!

This is a really fun calling. We enjoy getting to hang out with these young adults, helps keep us young. We've been able to have have service projects at the Utah Food Bank, weve had Luau's, and all kinds of great activities for this group of young adults.

Dinner at La Caille

Lindsay's Food Class had the opportunity to go to the La Caille to see how the upper end restaruants work & to enjoy a 5 course meal! Lindsay invited Scott and me to come along, so we thought "what the heck" it's both our birthdays & what a great place to celebrate our birthdays together.

Every year since the girls were itsy bitsy, we have carved pumpkins! This year was a lot of fun! We grew our own pumpkins and had a lot of fun carving them. Lindsay, Zach and Griffin came over and had dinner with us, then we got out all the carving stuff and went to town.

Scott wanted to see how the insides of his home grown pumpkins tasted! Wasn't very tastey!! YUCK!!!
Since Kristin is now done with her heads for her Cosmetology Class, she wanted to use them to decorate the house. The kids had fun making the heads look gruesome.

Snow Day

Scrapbooking Weekend

On Friday, Lindsay, Debbie and I packed up Debbie's Yukon and headed down to Nephi to have a Girl's Overnight Scrapbook Weekend. We stopped at Reed's Drive-In for dinner then went to Debbie's friends mom and dad's home.

We scrapped until around midnight, then headed to bed. The three of us stayed out in the trailer. It was a cold night, but we had the heater on so we slept comfy. We got up around 8:30 had homemade cinnamon rolls and cereal for breakfast, scrapped some more, then had home made soup for lunch. While we were eating lunch it started snowing. My camera was downstairs so I didn't get a picture. We started loading up all our gear around 4:00. It's a lot of stuff to take for just one night, but we had so much fun and actually got quite of lot of pages done. It's mostly just fun to be with friends, eat lots of treats and laugh and laugh.

1. I am an organizer! I hate it when things are not organized. It absolutely drives me NUTS. Everything needs its place.When things are not organized I feel panic and actually have to stop what's going on and organize.

2. When I am mad or in a bad mood....I clean! It's the BEST way for me to get out of a bad mood or get out my frustration.

3. I love to Scrapbook. It's my way of showing I have an Art Talent! I can't wait to finish a book. I have a whole Scrapbook room will all my stuff. It is PACKED. Closet, walls and shelves. It's my get away. I love to go back thru the books I've completed and reminisce.

4. I thoroughly enjoy yard work. I love being out in my yard planting, mowing, weeding, and pruning! I would rather be working out in the yard any day versus working in the house. I hate house work, but I do love a clean house.

5. I have a few nicknames I acquired thru the years. LD, LonnaDonna, LJ, Jo, sis, shortie, munchkin, and punkin.

6. I love to go 4-wheeling. I have my very own Yamaha 450 Kodiak 4-wheeler. We have been to some of the most fun and amazing places in Utah on our 4-wheelers. I don't mind riding with Scott at times on his 4-wheeler, but when I can I'd much rather be blazing my own trail and enjoying the ride.

7. I have a very strange talent and that is....I can pinch really good with my toes. I've caused a few people some really nice bruises, just ask my brothers, hubby and girls.

HOLY Pumpkin's!

After Scott had his surgery I decided I'd better get out in the yard and get some yard work done so he wouldn't go out and do it. He was suppose at keep his leg elevated and not put a lot of strain on it. But...knowing my hubby like I do, he would have been out there working and doing things he shouldn't. We grew 5 fun pumpkins this year. Can't wait to carve them!

It's About Time!!!

For the past 7 years (that we know about) Scott has had a vein in his right leg that was leaking. This caused him a lot of legs achs, swolen legs, and varicose veins, plus his ankle looked like someone took a bat and beat him with it. After all these years of me begging him to get it taken care of, he finally listened to me! We went to three different vein specialists and the third one was the winner for us. Dr. Peter Jensen from Utah Vein Specialists was the doctor that finally convinced Scott about getting the surgery done.

Dr. Jensen did the procedure in his office by Alta View Hospial. Scott did not get put under or even take a Valium to calm his nerves. (Man I would have taken 2 or 3) We got into the office at 2:30 and after 2 hours, Scott walked out of the office. Dr. Jensen went in thru Scott's ankle with a catheter and numbed the vein as he went up to his thigh. Then as he came back down the vein he burned the vein closed. He completely closed off his Great Saphenous Vein. Then he removed several large varicose veins caused by his vein not working properly. HYRUM CANYON

Friday morning we loaded our 4-wheelers and headed for Hyrum Canyon. We took our good friend Don with us. Kristin did have school or work and wanted to come along too. We unloaded our bikes at Left Hand Fork Canyon and headed up to Logan Peak. When we got to Logan Peak we were at 9700 feet. It was so cool, you could see Logan and Hyrum. There lady bugs every where. We had some fun with fruit roll up, they were the tatoo kind and we tatoo'd our tongues. We went to Old Ephraims grave. Old Ephraim is grizzler bear that was killed by a rancher, and a scout troop decided to build a monument for the bear. Then we headed to Grey Cliff's Spring. It was amazing how water can come out of a mountain like that. It is so clear and beautiful. There were little fish in the spring. It was nice to wash off, we were all covered in dirt! The canyon was in brilliant colors. We couldn't take in enough of the beauty. We didn't see a lot of wild life this trip, only some jack rabbits, squirles, sage hens and hawks. No deer, elk or bears!

Paiute Trail

At 4:30 on 9/4/08 we all headed out for Richfield UT....(Scott, Me, Dad, Russ, Jaren & Quintin) We stayed at the Quality Inn. On 9/5 at 7:00 am we ate breakfast then drove to Marysvale UT, we parked the truck, unloaded the 4-wheelers, then started our fun. We saw beautiful country. Got up above 11,000 feet. We wondered if we'd get any snow, but nope, we didn't. We rode that day for 10 hours, then loaded the 4-wheelers and drove over to Hoovers (not Hooters!) for dinner. OMG, I ordered a chicken fried steak dinner and when the waitress brought it, I just started laughing..I kid you not, this steak was 10" in diameter!! It was HUGE, I didn't even eat 1/2 of it. Scott picked at it some, but I felt so bad leaving so much of it. On Saturday morning after breakfast we drove to Richfield Park and unloaded the 4-wheelers again and drove up Fish Lake National Forest, which is still part of the Paiute Trail. We rode for about 6 hours, came back to the park, loaded up and drove home. Now the yucky part! Unpacking, laundry, and facing real life again! I love these adventures with family. They are great memories and wonderful times together! My little nephews were a lot of fun to be with. They were throwing rocks down mountains, stabbing grasshoppers with sticks, and wresteling with each other! We saw lots of cows, a few deer, waterfalls, streams, a blow snake and Mountain Goats. We have some of the most amazing mountains in this GREAT state of Utah! Gotta Love It!! We put over 123 miles on the 4-Wheeers....WAHOO!!

So...the last time I guess I really paid any attention to our back yard, was way too long ago. The sunflowers were shorter than me! I go out today and Whoosh...they grew overnight to twice the height of Scott! We have pumpkins growing, Katydids taking up housing on the tramp, tomatoes busting at the seams...I really need to get outside (in my own backyard) more often!

A Day At Daniels Summitt

Today, Dad, Kristin, Griffin, Scott and I loaded up the 4-wheelers and headed to Springville. Then from there up Hobble Creek Canyon. We unloaded and drove the dirt roads to Daniels Summit for some lunch. This is a pretty rocky and rough trail, but the scenery is beautiful. We drove up to Strawberry Peak and was able to view Strawberry Reservoir, Timpanogas, and Wallsburg. We didn't see much wild life this trip like we did last year when we saw lots of deer and a mother black bear with her two baby cubs. But we did see horses, sheep, cows and lots of chipmunks. Our Polaris got a flat tire and that held us up for a bit having to repair it. Luckily we had a couple repair kits and a pump in our supplies. When we got back to the truck and trailer to load up, we were all pretty brown....from all the dirt. We had some wipes we brought so we each had a sponge bath before heading home.

Today Scott was out side BBQing Steaks for Sunday dinner. He noticed our bird feeder was not straight in the ground and decided to straighten it. He assumed it was metal, but no such luck...it is ceramic. He pushed and moved the top of the feeded trying to get it into the ground better, when the whole top part shattered in his hand. I was in the kitchen getting dinner ready, when he opened the door and asked me to hand him a paper towel because he sliced his finger. I went outside and saw his hand dripping like a slow leak with blood. I wrapped the paper towel around his finger and then then took a look. YIKES! it was prettty bad. I turned off the BBQ grill and said, we are going to Instacare, you need stitches. And his comment was, "Naw it's not that bad, I'm fine." (typical for a guy, right?) But, once I said, "my gut says we need to see a doctor." He agreed. Sure enough, the sliced finger required 5 stitches! He was so sweet, on the way to the Instacare he just kept saying, "I'm so sorry I broke the bird feeder." I love my hubby!!

Kristin's 1992 Nissan was in desperate need of break pads. She told her dad whenever she put her breaks on, she heard weird noises. So after work Scott pulled the car in the garage, and took the rear tires off off. The pads were gone, and it was metal on metal!! So Kristin and Scott spent the rest of the evening putting the new pads on her car! They were both black with grease and the garage was so dirty. The funniest thing that happened was when they pulled the hub cap off the car, a little tiny mouse head fell out of the hub cap. I wish we would have thought to get a picture of it. Scott made a funny comment that the poor little guy probably ran his guts out before loosing his head. Kristin got cleaned up too fast after helping her dad. So no picture of her face and black hands.

Today we loaded up the Polaris 4-wheelers and Scott, Dad and I headed up American Fork Canyon. We unloaded the bikes at Tibble Fork and headed up the trails. OMG is was BEAUTIFUL! The sky was so blue, the foliage so many colors and green and the wild flowers, they were everywhere in reds, yellows, puples, oranges. We saw majestic trees, butterflies flying all over and the smell of the canyon was so crips, clean and sometimes even sweet. The streams were full of running water and the water was so crystal clear and cool. The temperature was in the 50's at 9,000 feet and then warmed up as we came back down the canyon. We stopped at an old mine and collected hands full of Fool's Gold. I rode with Scott this trip, and while I was riding and taking in all the beauty, I just felt loved and at peace. I was so thankful and greatful for the chances I have to go with family and LIVE!! It's so amazing that in less than an hours drive you can be away from the TV, phone and rush of traffic. You are driving along a dirt road that have a creek running to the side with huge rocks and trees and you just are so happy to be there and not at work, or at home cleaning, or anywhere else. It's like you are in another world and it is so peaceful and glorious!

This morning, Scott gave his new baby (his truck) a bath since it got dirty at the Family Reunion. I cleaned the house. Then, since we had nothing better to do, we jumped in the newly bathed truck and went for a relaxing, beautiful drive to Mirror Lake. Well....there was a bike race going on in that canyon! Over 1,000 bikers!! Mirror Lake was beautiful, but very, very busy! So we decided to drive to Trial Lake, it was less crowded, but not as beautiful as Mirror Lake. Then we headed to Prove River Falls. WOW!!! what a sight! It was AWESOME! We stayed there and soaked up the beauty, smells, and cool weather. It was 20 degrees cooler than in Salt Lake City.

Family Reunion Time

Every year we go to Pineview for our Family Reunion. The weather was GREAT this year, not too hot. We ate great food, played card games, made jewelry, told jokes and ghost stories and had a great week of fun in the sun and in the water! Time sure does fly when you are having fun. Everyone was at camp this year, even my brother and his family from Nevada! It was a very enjoyable reunion this year!

I have grown up with BASEBALL...my grandfather was a baseball fanatic! Him and his brother would go to the World Series every year!! I remember as a youngster we would go to Derks Field and sit on the old woooden bleachers and watch the game. So...now that my dad is doing great after his cancer surgery....he wanted to go too a Bee's Game. So we went out and had some good old fashion fun as a family! Too BAD we lost. BUMMER!!!

Well, we finally did it!! We traded in our old but very muched loved 1994 Chevy Silverado and purchased a new 2008 Chevy Silverado. When we returned home from the purchase, we got out the information on the 1994 and GUESS WHAT??? We actually bought the 2008 for less money out the door!! Scott loves his new toy, just not gonna love makin' the payments on it.

American Fork & Mineral Basin Canyon

Scott and Don headed out to do what they do best....see the great wide open on their 4-wheelers. This time they went up American Fork Canyon and Mineral Basin Canyon. Don't know if you can see it, but in the green hill picture there is a water fall in the middle of the picture. Scott had a wonderful trip, saw some wonderful landscape and came home filthy dirty, but had a huge smile on his face. "We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open."

The 4th of July has ALWAYS been a day filled with lots of fun, family and food! We went to the Murray Parade with Scott's family. The weather was great when we first got there...not too hot...hot too cold.
Kristin had fun watching the parade with us.
After the parade we all went over to Scott's parents house for some games and a great lunch!

We enjoyed visiting with each other and catching up on what's going on in everyone's life.The cousin's enjoyed playing together!

Later that day, we headed to Sugarhouse, had more fun with family, games and more food.

After our tummys were full (again) we went out on the front lawn and watched some wonderful fireworks from Sugarhouse Park.

Young Single Adult Summit "ANCHORED"

Today ended a wonderful weekend for us. Scott and I are the YSA (Young Single Adult) shepparding couple from our ward. We had our YSA Summit this weekend. On Friday we had a BBQ and Jericho Road performed at Hillcrest High School. We were not able to go Friday, (we had tickets to Jerry Seinfeld). On Saturday we went to the SLCC on 90th South and had a breakfast, then listened to Keynote Speaker Mark Kastleman. He is a nationally known author and trainer teaching simple tools to realize dreams for remarkable lives. Later that evening there was a Luau with Kalua Pork and a polynesian show then a dance. Today we went to the Tabernacle and listened to Sheri Dew speak. She was awesome! There were 4 things she advised the YSA's to do to Come Unto Christ. They were:

1. Be vigilant in seeing the difference between the world and Christ.

2. Be diligent to hear the spirit and learn to receive personal revelation.

3. Deligently be more PURE in everything.

4. Ask yourself everyday,"What can I do to build the Kingdom" and "What would the Lord have me do today?"

We're Going to the Zoo Zoo Zoo (Hogle Zoo)

Today I went and picked Lindsay up from Zach's work. She came to work with me until noon, then we drove home picked up Scott, then drove and picked up dad. We headed to the Hogle Zoo. Dad had been so bored from staying home after surgery, so we took him out for the afternoon.
The weather was perfect, mid 80's, a slight canyon breeze and it wasn't very crowded. We had a lot of fun watching the animals. It must have been around feeding time. Because all the animals seemed very active.

We enjoyed an ice cream and enjoyed the fun animals and the wonderful weather....
But, most of all we enjoyed being together as Family!

Alaska Cruise

For our 25th Wedding Anniversary we decided to take a Cruise to Alaska. We went with our parents, friends and daughter. We flew to Seattle, boarded the Infinity Ship and started our cruise. We saw amazing grave yards, flew over glaciers on a float plane, went to a glacier in the ship, saw lumberjacks and totem's. It was a wonderful cruise with wonderful people!

TOPAZ Mountain 4-Wheelin'

Dad, Scott, Lindsay and I had the day off and decided to take the 4-wheelers out. We drove for over an hour in the truck out west, a lot of it on dirt road, we unloaded the bikes and rode them to Topaz Mountain. It was like a diamond mine. Every where you looked it glittered on the mountain with chips of Topaz! We spent quite a while collecting topaz off the mountain.

Then we rode to another spot and collected obsidian rocks. Obsidian is black shiny rocks made from lava. There were rocks everywhere on the ground.

On our way back to the truck we saw this shack looking structor. I think it must have been what they used in the olden days to load Ore into trucks or wagons after mining it?

We made several stops to get a drink or a treat on the trail. We got home pretty late that day, but we didn't care...we had a blast and made great memories!

In February 2007 we flew to California with my parents. They had just returned for an 18 month mission and wanted to go see Mickey & Minnie Mouse. We spent 3 days at Disneyland and one day at Sea World. We had a blast!
